Good Afternoon!

We are excited to share that school is open tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 3rd, and will start at our regular time-7:40 am! District crews and our amazing custodial team have worked to remove ice and snow in parking lots, car loops, crosswalks and at our main entrances.

As there is still snow and ice on the school grounds, we ask that you use only cleared pathways. In addition, please allow for a little extra time at arrival and dismissal to ensure everyone's safety.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Welcome back Cheetahs!

LRSD schools will be closed for students Mon., Feb. 2, due to icy conditions impacting bus routes. Employees will report to work: non-school. staff - 8:30-4:00; school-based staff 8:30-3:30 p.m. Road conditions will be checked again Mon. & families will be notified about the status of school for Tuesday.

We are missing our Chicot Cheetahs and it looks like we have to wait just a little longer! Due to the continued inclement weather conditions, all LRSD schools and offices will remain closed Friday, January 30. Thank you for your continued patience! In the meantime, don't forget to read 20 minutes a day for Reading in the Rock. Now is also a great time to prepare for our 100th Day of School Parade. Get those 100 year old costumes ready to celebrate being 100 days smarter! The new date is Tuesday, Feb. 10th. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

LRSD makes decisions daily after checking road conditions across the city to ensure safe travel. Also, don't forgot our Reading in the Rock Challenge. LRSD wants to hear from you! The Little Rock School District is inviting parents, students, staff, and community members to join upcoming community meetings focused on the FY27 budget. These conversations are a chance to learn more about district priorities, ask questions, and share feedback before final decisions are made. The first meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Southwest Community Center (6401 Baseline Rd). The second meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Henderson (401 John Barrow Rd). Both meetings will cover the same information. Come be part of the conversation as we plan responsibly for the future of LRSD.

Student leadership in action. Through Leader in Me, students learn responsibility by taking on real leadership roles at school. At our Leader in Me school, students have many opportunities to lead each day. This is one example of how our students are leading the way.

Please congratulate our Chicot Cheetah basketball team! They are putting in the work to keep improving daily. They were acknowledged at LRSW games on Tuesday night for what they are doing and how hard they are working! They are currently undefeated!!!
