We’re excited to share that Tony Hayar, a Little Rock Central High School student and NBA Math Hoops alumnus, was recently featured in the Learn Fresh newsletter for his incredible achievements! 🎉 Tony won first place in Central's Science Fair in Engineering Materials with his project on a compact drip-irrigation system. His success doesn’t stop there—he’s also a two-time Arkansas regional champion and competed at the 2023 Global Championship in NYC! We’re so proud to see Tony’s hard work recognized on a national level.

🌟 Congrats to Little Rock Central's Yahya Younus for making the 2025 Arkansas Times Academic All-Star Team! From founding neuroscience & rocketry clubs to securing NASA funding & publishing research, he's set to change global healthcare. Next stop: University of Pennsylvania's Life Sciences & Management Program! 🎓

Due to the threat of severe weather moving into our area, LRSD will dismiss school early today, all after-school activities are cancelled, and CARE will be closed. Elementary sites will dismiss at 1:30 p.m., followed by secondary schools at 2:30 p.m. This decision was made in the best interest of students and staff, in consultation with the National Weather Service, LRSD’s Emergency Management and Transportation teams, and surrounding districts. Please note that if tornado sirens are activated during these dismissal times, we will initiate our shelter-in-place procedures, and building doors will be locked until the threat has passed. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Please stay safe.

The LR Central High Quiz Bowl team is the 7A AGQBA Central Region Champion! 🏆🐯 They went undefeated, averaging an impressive 352 points per game. 🚨 Reminder! Students will be out tomorrow for a work/data day. However, LRSD offices will remain open if you need assistance. Enjoy your day off, students! 🎉
