The mission of the Central High School Wellness Center is to promote each student’s optimal physical, mental, and emotional well-being and to enhance, support and sustain academic achievement!

Evelyn D. Allen

LMSW

Mrs. Allen serves as the Wellness Center coordinator.  She engages in proactive mediations with students who may be having conflict issues. Student are seen by her individually and in small group settings.  Additionally, mediations are provided for students who have engaged in a verbal or physical altercation with parents and administrator in attendance.

She assesses students who may be experiencing suicidal ideations, mental health needs, family issues, suspected child abuse or neglect and refers them to appropriate mental health agencies and other services.

​

Support groups are an integral part of the Wellness Center program. Students, parents, and administrators may refer/ consent for students to participate.

​

Mrs. Allen collaborates with the mental health providers that are assigned to see clients in the Wellness Center and refers clients to them and other agencies.

​

Each year the Wellness Center provides a school wide health fair. Mental health and other professionals enter the classrooms to educate students and staff.  Above all, Mrs. Allen is a strong advocate for the children and families that she serves and is a liaison between the school and community.

Linda Thompson

Secretary

She is the first point of contact by telephone or when staff, students and visitors enter the Wellness Center.

She maintains the front reception area by assisting students, parents, staff and administrators in securing available services.

​

Mrs. Thompson manages all group activities and works directly with the nurse, health aide, social worker and mental health professionals. Scheduling of group rotations, individual sessions, and mediations are managed by her.

​

Mrs. Thompson plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and facilitating the Wellness Center’s annual “Health Fair to Remember” each year. She is a great asset to the Wellness Center.

Annetta Cooper

Health Aide

She can provide services at any school within the district but is assigned to Little Rock Central High School. Her time is shared between two nurses. One is within the Wellness Center and the other nurse is located in the Health Room on the 2nd floor.

 She is trained in CPR, First Aide, Stop the Bleed, the E-school system and administering medication.  Mrs. Cooper triages students into the nurse’s station by checking temperatures, blood pressures, and documentation of pertinent information as it relates to immunizations from WEBIZ and BMI.

​

She assists with the annual flu clinic, BMI screenings and plays an integral role in the annual Wellness Center “Health Fair to Remember”.

Jennifer Stalls

RN

Jenifer Stalls, RN is one of 2 nurses at Little Rock Central High School. She is assigned to the Wellness Center and is responsible for approximately twelve-hundred and fifty students. Nurse Stalls is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the individualized health care plans for student with special health care needs.  She stores and administers medication and assures each student’s vaccines are up to date according to Arkansas state law.

​

Nurse Stalls provides daily nursing care and treatment for staff and student’s acute and chronic health needs and is also a first responder for emergencies. She provides health education to students and staff, helps coordinate and hold staff trainings, performs health screenings and coordinates a yearly flu clinic. Additionally, she refers student to the physician, dentist and school social worker, collaborates with the Arkansas Department of Health to serves student with reproductive health needs and STI treatment.

As an advocate for students and their health care needs, she looks forward to coming to work each day.
