-Aristotle

The mission of the Central High School Wellness Center is to promote each student’s optimal physical, mental, and emotional well-being and to enhance, support and sustain academic achievement!

She assesses students who may be experiencing suicidal ideations, mental health needs, family issues, suspected child abuse or neglect and refers them to appropriate mental health agencies and other services.

Support groups are an integral part of the Wellness Center program. Students, parents, and administrators may refer/ consent for students to participate.

Mrs. Allen collaborates with the mental health providers that are assigned to see clients in the Wellness Center and refers clients to them and other agencies.

Each year the Wellness Center provides a school wide health fair. Mental health and other professionals enter the classrooms to educate students and staff.  Above all, Mrs. Allen is a strong advocate for the children and families that she serves and is a liaison between the school and community.
